23rd February 2006, 9.10pm: Gorbals Cross, Gorbals, Glasgow
A light blue umbrella, planted like a marker at the foot of the first Gorbals towerblock, though it has obviously spent much of the day in the road, crawling across and out of harm only to pass away here. This area has been a mine of umbrellas recently, as if the Gorbals was an umbrella equivalent of an elephant graveyard. When the photographs come back from the developers I find I've captured what I wanted - the ghostly foot of a passerby caught in slow motion across the frame.
