Tuesday 13th March 2001 – 8.02am
A wonderfully clear day, Black Combe prominent and warm sun pushing back last night’s frost already. A flock of gulls are bathing in the water at low tide amongst the occasional abandoned shopping trolleys, which have all been there so long and are so encrusted with shellfish that they could probably be classed as a natural habitat and protected by various wildlife directives.
