Bank Holiday Monday and absolutely still. The Channelside flags are damp and lie drab, and on the water the boats look completely at rest. There’s a light sense of rain in the air, but who knows what will happen later as the morning goes on? For now though it seems early, with few cars or people about and no boats yet on the water.
