Saturday 7th July 2001 – 10.46am
Hot again, with light wind in from the west, and sun busy in the sky. The Channel is rippled slightly, the wind and tide throwing intricate patterns across its surface, while the sun is bringing out its best colours. Away Black Combe is only a line on the gathered heat haze, but so far we seem safe from the threat of gathering thunderstorms.
