Wind out of the South today, with the tide at its low point. The boats to the Channel’s sides lay beached, most rested and safe, lying slightly angled on their shallow keels. In front of me, the sky blue yacht lies half out of the water, its bow pointing in, but its stern clear and dry, as if she is about to dive in like a swimmer.
