A mark-in-the-memory kind of view this morning: the sky clear and
bright, Black Combe standing proud and the water blue. The north-northwest
wind is coming in from over North Scale and across the wide scope
of the exposed Channel bed. By North Scale, only just visible, Le
Griff, one of the boats moored up by the bank, finally has both her
masts raised into place, the end result of slow patient work by her
owner.
