Almost no wind today, like the last few. The water is flat as a sheet, with disturbances only from the tide pushing up into the Channel, swirling under the bridge and pulling at the empty mooring buoys. The day is covered by a thin layer of flat piped cloud, which screens the sunlight out of the day, casting a subdued shadowy feel over everything.
