31st January 2006, 3.15pm: West Maitland Street, Edinburgh
Planted provocatively in the flowerbeds, this umbrella was there for all to see and traffic and pedestrians must have coursed around it throughout the cold frosted day. Odd too to find an umbrella completely stripped and almost wingless, yet still proud.
