29th May 2006, 5.30pm: Bedford Street, Gorbals, Glasgow
Last night, heading to the Carling Academy to find if I can buy a touted ticket and get in to see Forward Russia play as bottom of the bill to Editors and The National. On the way see this umbrella under the water of a rising main that bubbles up into the street, while overhead a sycamore tree sheds helicopter seed pods on to the pavement. Tonight I head back to reclaim it, safe in the knowledge that without me this umbrella will be going nowhere.
