Thursday 5th April 2001 – 8.21am
A cold SE wind blowing across the bridge today, turning my left shoulder as I write this, huddled. On the water all the boats point faithfully to it like a weathervane. Black Combe is almost submerged by thick white cloud this morning, but above North Walney and the Channel sits grey dappled cloud, moving slowly northeast.
