Saturday 16th June 2001 – 9.32am
A clouded but clear day. Yesterday evening, the day’s rain suddenly lifted and disappeared, bringing a bright, dry and warm evening. Now, there is new weather moving in from the South-southeast, a strong honest wind at my shoulder, while on the water the boats ride the leaving tide. The slopes of Whicham Valley are in morning sunlight, but thick bands of fast moving cloud shade much of the rest of the Lakes.
