Thursday 28th June 2001 – 8.36am
A bright start to the day. The last couple of days have had dull or wet starts and bright warm ends, so what today? The wind is out of the southwest, blowing in mildly. In the distance Black Combe is shedding its rain of the last two days, sending it up into the air like a smoke signal. The whole of the Lakes, from Black Combe east, is one large smoke blanket as the rain is returned by the Hills.
