Friday 29th June 2001 – 6.54am
Wind out of the southwest on a cloudy overcast morning. The tide is high, reaching right up to the top of the shoreline, and floating every boat however near the bank. Away, Black Combe is obscured by a thick band of cloud that covers the distance in a thick circumference, breaking up only above the Channel, like a grey halo on the view.
