The sky is a mix of strips of black and grey cloud lining the sky,
rows of them lying east to west with the new prevailing east wind.
Black Combe looks in darkness still, gloomy and perturbed by the day,
while here occasional spits of rain are coming down. The tide is rising
slowly up, looking unhurried, with only a light disturbance and swirl
on the water.
