Saturday 11th August 2001 – 9.35am
A cold miserable day. The rain has calmed since earlier, but there’s hardly anything around save for cars rushing by and a few seagulls down on the shoreline breaking open shellfish: seagulls are made of pretty strong stuff though. The wind is blustering in from the south, driving in the light misty rain. It is heard to tell whether it is really still raining or whether the wind is picking up fallen rain and throwing it around.
