Thursday 16th August 2001 – 8.15am
There’s a fairly light west-northwest wind blowing in this morning, across a fairly grey day, recovering from an excess of rain last night. The tide is near to reaching its height, and a trawler is setting off from the Dock jetty, heading south into the Channel. Away, Black Combe is surrounded by thick billowing cloud, sucking all the water off its slopes and returning it to rain.
