Thursday 27th September 2001 – 8.32am
A fair south-southeast wind blowing in from behind, but I am slightly sheltered by the Vickers sheds. The boats have turned to face it and the rising tide, and so look at me across the gloom of the day. The distant horizon is not too far away this morning, and the grey surround is pressing down on the morning, though thankfully, the rain has either passed or at least abated at the moment.
