Wednesday 24th October 2001 – 8.45am
A receding tide, but with wind from the south. The two opposing forces send the boats around the moorings looking for equilibrium. The day is all cloud, but south of here the wind is starting to break them up like a collie separating sheep. North of here Black Combe is under thick strips of grey cloud, looking like the wettest place in the world.
