Grey mud water, as the tide begins to recede, showing the wet banks
and the Channel floor up by North Walney and Sandscale the
ridges in the bed that belie the smooth surface on the water. The
day is overcast, with a fair northwest wind moving across it, seeming
mild compared to the chilled northerly winds of the last week. Two
men are on the Walney slipway, ambitiously readying a jet-ski. Rather
them than me on this cold overcast day.
