Wednesday 5th December 2001 8.29am
Cold beating rain pushing down on the day, blown in by a cold southeast wind. Low tide and the gulls patrol the shoreline dejectedly seeking out easy shellfish. The morning is grim and grey, it’s hardly daylight really; it looks as if the day will stay this way. Night will come again without anyone seeing the sun today.
