Friday 14th December 2001 8.47am
The tide lower this morning, and pushing up harder; more work to do as it struggles to carry the weight of water. The day is chilled by a fair south-southeast wind riding in, possibly bringing new weather. Above grey clouds tinged with the last orange of a low sun cap the view, but away Black Combe can just be seen, cutting a line out of the view.
