Monday 4th June 2001 – 8.44am
The wind is still out of the NW, blowing in strong, but more solid; less gusty; better sailing weather all round. The tide is coming in, with whirls of current heading up the centre Channel; patterned like jelly fish, the water looking so flat and smooth as it moves north, circling as it goes. Away, Black Combe is cloud-capped and dark, but looking broad shouldered and impressive.
