Thursday 7th June 2001 – 8.32am
A bright day clouding over: perhaps it will clear later? Away, Black Combe is disappearing under cloud, but with its slopes still picked out and highlighted green by the sun. In the Channel it is near to low tide, with most of the boats facing west-northwest into the steady wind, while on the shore gulls patrol, seeking shellfish.
