Wednesday 13th June 2001 – 8.21am
A calm day with not a hush of wind, and the boats lying still on the water, facing north into the slow-leaving tide. It’s a warm day but close, rather than light and airy and the view of the Lakes is hazy. By North Scale the curve of the shore and treeline is reflected clearly in the water highlighting the village that sits there quiet and small in the view most days.
