Thursday 14th June 2001 – 8.22am
A bright day, but with wisps of cloud in the air, centring the view in on itself and all but removing Black Combe from the view – there’s only a smudge of it left in the distance, darkening the haze, bit only just. There’s a light, light wind coming in from the South which is barely noticeable against the skin, and the boats are all riding the slow drain of the Channel.
