Friday 24th August 2001 – 8.43am
A warm still day: no wind again so the water is flat: not quite millpond-flat but close. While standing here, a guy has just dragged his tender down the Barrow Island slipway and rowed the short distance to his yacht before climbing aboard. There will hopefully be wind for him later. Away, the Lakes are blurred, smudged out of the view, but Black Combe somehow manages to rise out haze into view.
