Thursday 20th September 2001 – 7.58am
The sun, from here, seems in the clouds, but away its diluted light is already on the side of Black Combe, the brightest part of today’s view. There is a light north-northeast breeze gently shuffling in and the sun is slowly rolling down the view, the light spreading down the Channel south towards me as the sun, momentarily at least, moves free of cloud and comes into view.
