Thursday 18th October 2001 – 8.49am
Cold and wet this morning, with a relaxed rain falling. Its patience is understandable, as it has been raining most of the night, and will probably go on most of the day. Away, Black Combe is visible out of the gloom, like a shape seen underwater. The Channel is calm at low tide and there is only really a very light southerly this morning. The storms of last night have subsided.
