Saturday 20th October 2001 – 8.47am
The light wind from the east can only make a slight impression on the low water. The boats sit idle and half-beached, while those high and dry on the banks are almost camouflaged against the mud, courtesy of the low light. The day above is grey cloud, close in and layered – one band of travelling grey against another thicker one. The early rain has abated however, leaving behind it some promise for later.
