Overcast this morning, with the sky pressing hard and low onto the day. There is a light south-southeast wind, but barely enough to disturb the flat stillness of the water, which the boats sit rooted to at the bottom of the tide. The street lights are still all switched on and bright against the gloom of the day, which is doing its best to suggest dark starts ahead.
