Approaching high tide, the water still pushing up, but being beaten
back by the strong northwest wind, until it almost seems to give up,
accepting that there is no space left to fill with its water. The
boats ride between the two, and so half face each and are squeezed
along their sides. The day is thick grey wet cloud, threatening and
delivering rain in sharp concentrated airdrops to the ground.
